WrestleMania 35 match card, rumors

Share the joy

The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the one and only WrestleMania 35 event set to take place on Sun., April 7, 2019, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the company’s annual “Showcase of the Immortals”. It’s the biggest pro wrestling event of the year.

We’re one month away from showtime and multiple matches are official:

  • Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair (Raw women’s championship)

Lynch won the Royal Rumble, was told to get her knee looked at, didn’t, was suspended, reinstated, suspended again, replaced by Flair, then won a match against Flair to get put back in, but with Flair still in. Yeah.

  • Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Seth Rollins (Universal championship)

Rollins won the Royal Rumble and chose to challenge Lesnar.

  • Triple H vs. Batista (No Holds Barred)

Batista returned on Monday Night Raw during Ric Flair’s birthday celebration, assaulting the old fella to get Triple H’s attention. Then they had it out in a passionate promo segment where Batista demanded he get what he wants, which is one more match with “The Game” before he retires. This, then, will be his retirement match.

  • Shane McMahon vs. The Miz

They were a team, and even won the SmackDown tag team titles, but after repeated failures, McMahon turned on Miz in his hometown of Cleveland at Fastlane, right in front of Miz’s dad. He claims to be tired of allowing others to use him for their personal gain, so he’s going to kick Miz’s ass (again) over it.

This will act as Angle’s retirement match. It’s unclear who his opponent will be but he mentioned names like John Cena and Samoa Joe when asked about it.

  • Buddy Murphy (c) vs. TBA (Cruiserweight championship)

The winner of a tournament on 205 Live will decide who challenges Murphy for his title at the big show.

  • AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton

They’re arguing over who has the right to call SmackDown their house. So they’re going to fight it out.

While it’s not official yet, a WWE championship match pitting Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston is quite clearly the direction. The Usos and The Hardy Boyz are building to something for the SmackDown tag team titles. Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre looks to be planned. While they haven’t been mentioned, the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and Women’s Battle Royal are both expected for the show as well.

Plus, Alexa Bliss is your host!
