Wilder, Fury Sign Contracts – Tour Begins on October 1 in London

WBC Heavyweight World Champion Deontay Wilder will defend his title against lineal champion Tyson Fury in a blockbuster matchup of undefeated heavyweights Saturday, December 1 live on pay-per-view.
 
The contracts have been signed and the promotional tour will kickoff in London on Oct. 1 and continue with stops in New York City and Los Angeles.
 
Wilder vs. Fury tests the raw power of Wilder against the unmatched size and mobility of Fury. America’s only heavyweight champion since 2007, Wilder has 39 knockouts in 40 professional fights, including knockouts in all seven of his title defenses. Fury is a former IBF, WBA, IBO and WBO heavyweight world champion who is undefeated in 27 professional fights and holds boxing’s prestigious lineal heavyweight title.
 
More details on the location, venue and the on-sale ticket information for the heavyweight championship battle will be released next week.

IN OTHER NEWS: Eight fights have been made for the second edition of the series “A Puño Limpio”, for Friday, September 28, at the Ruben Zayas Montañez Coliseum in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, in a presentation of PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) in association with Spartan Boxing, which will be broadcast by Wapa Deportes.

This card will feature Trujillo Alto natives Wilfredo “Bimbito” Méndez and Jean Carlos “Lobo” Torres, who will fight in separate bouts, 10 and eight rounds, respectively.

“We’ve completed the new event of A Puño Limpio with eight fights in which, in addition to Bimbito and el Lobo in the main turns, we included one fight of females and several debutants fights, as well as the Top Rank prospect Antonio Vargas, and others promising fighters in action ” said promoter Ivan Rivera, president of PRBBP.

In one of the new bouts included, scheduled to six rounds and at 147 pounds, the unbeaten John Correa (5-0, 5 KOs) will fight against Dominican Victor Abreu (9-4, 5 KOs), while at the same time distance, the Puerto Rican blood fighter Antonio Vargas (7-0, 3 KOs) will be measured against an opponent to be determined at 122 pounds.
