What Kofi will be doing at Fastlane instead of a WWE title match

Share the joy

Well, this is random.

The New Day vowed to be in Cleveland for Fastlane this Sunday (Mar. 10), and now they have a reason to be – beyond joining Pat McAfee on his new Watch Along gimmick, that is. WWE’s announced Big E & Xavier Woods will face Shinsuke Nakamura & Rusev on the Kickoff show.

Not much in the way of recent precedent for this one. The Bulgarian Brute’s had plenty of run-ins with the Princes of Positivity before, but lately he’s been doing his odd couple thing with Nakamura after they feuded for the United States title. They got beat up by the Hardyz and Ricochet & Aleister Black last Tuesday while New Day was in India.

Ah well, at least this gives the pre-show panel an excuse to talk #KofiMania.

BONUS! Woods found out about it the same way you did!

This match makes the pay-per-view (PPV) card look like this:

  • Rusev & Shinsuke Nakamura vs. The New Day (Kickoff)
  • Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade (Kickoff)
  • The Revival (c) vs. Aleister Black & Ricochet vs. Chad Gable & Bobby Roode for the Raw Tag Team championship
  • Mandy Rose vs. Asuka (c) for the SmackDown Women’s title
  • Sasha Banks & Bayley (c) vs. Nia Jax & Tamina for the Women’s Tag Team championship
  • The Miz & Shane McMahon vs. The Usos (c) for the SmackDown Tag Team titles
  • The Shield vs. Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley & Drew McIntyre
  • Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch
  • Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Kevin Owens for the WWE championship
