We have to talk about this Finn Balor, Statue of Liberty merch

Share the joy

Finn Balor could play a pivotal role at WWE WrestleMania 35, and there’s plenty of speculation that “The Demon” could return to take back the Intercontinental Championship.

Although Finn Balor won the Intercontinental Championship off of Bobby Lashley at the Elimination Chamber Pay Per View, it didn’t take long for Lashley and Lio Rush to reclaim the title. At WWE WrestleMania 35, Lashley must defend Raw’s most prominent men’s championship against Balor yet again, and the strength of “The Demon” could finally be on Finn’s side.

Ahead of what could be Finn’s first victory at WrestleMania, WWE Shop has released a new T-Shirt for Balor, which they’re calling the “Demon Statue”.

And, yes, it is literally a picture of the “Statue of Liberty” dressed up in “Demon” gear, because even one of the United States’ greatest monuments stans The Extraordinary Man.

It’s yet another example of WWE foreshadowing a big “Demon” entrance for Balor at WrestleMania. Last year at ‘Mania 34, where Balor lost a Triple Threat match for the IC Title against The Miz and the victorious Seth Rollins, Finn made an important LGBT entrance that should stand as a WrestleMania moment of his own. And it was honestly disappointing that he didn’t win the title on that night, especially after this entrance.

Balor has yet to reclaim the Universal Championship he never lost, though he did fall short against Roman Reigns on the night after SummerSlam 2018, but his path to Raw’s ultimate prize could begin with his first lengthy title reign on the main roster. After all, Finn played a huge role in making the NXT Championship feel like one of the most important titles in all of wrestling, so he could have similar success with any title on the WWE main roster if given the chance.

That opportunity should come at WrestleMania against Lashley, who is one of the most formidable opponents possible. But the power of the “Demon” and the WWE Universe will be there with Balor.

And yes, that “Demon Statue” merch is definitely a shirt I have eyes on for this week’s splurge on wrestling shirts. Finn has to be in the top five (The New Day, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks are right there with him) for the best merch in WWE.
