A welterweight showdown between Vicente Luque and Mike Perry is expected to serve as the co-main event at UFC Fight Night in Montevideo, Uruguay on Aug. 10.
Multiple sources close to the fight confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Tuesday following an initial report via MMAUncensored.
A winner of five fights in a row, Luque has been making a steady climb up the welterweight ladder while putting on a string of exciting performances. Most recently, Luque dispatched late replacement Derrick Krantz by first round TKO, which served as his fifth finish during his five fight win streak.
Now Luque will take on another heavy-handed welterweight with chances for fireworks when they clash in August.
Perry is coming off a unanimous decision win over Alex Oliveira in his most recent outing, which moved him to 2-1 in his past three fights. Perry is well known for his devastating knockout power with signature wins over Jake Ellenberger and Danny Roberts.
The newly confirmed welterweight contest will serve as the co-headliner to the UFC Fight Night card from Uruguay with the flyweight title fight between champion Valentina Shevchenko and Liz Carmouche set as the main event of the evening.
