Still undefeated, Mike Trizano is looking to stay that way when he meets Grant Dawson at UFC Rochester.
Per the Democrat & Chronicle, Trizano and Dawson have been booked for a featherweight bout on the May 18 card, which is set to take place at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York. This will be Trizano’s first fight at 145 pounds in the UFC after winning The Ultimate Fighter 28 lightweight tournament.
In his first post-TUF bout at UFC Denver, Trizano defeated Luis Pena by split decision to improve to 2-0 in the UFC and 8-0 overall as a pro. It was the second straight split nod for Trizano after beating Joe Giannetti in the same fashion to win TUF 28.
Dawson (13-1) is fresh off of a unanimous decision win over Julian Erosa that took place this past weekend at UFC Wichita. He earned a contract on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in August 2017, but his UFC debut was delayed by a USADA investigation in which Dawson was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing. Dawson has won his last four fights.
Also booked for May 18, a light heavyweight bout between Patrick Cummins (10-6) and Ed Herman (22-14), and a middleweight bout between Trevin Giles (11-0) and Zak Cummings (22-6).
Cummins is coming off of back-to-back losses to Corey Anderson and Misha Cirkunov, the latter of whom defeated Cummins by first-round submission back in October. Herman also finds himself in a rough stretch, having lost three straight and four of his last five.
Giles is 2-0 since joining the UFC two years ago. He has won both of his fights by knockout, but has not seen action since defeating Antonio Braga Neto on Dec. 9, 2017.
For Cummings, this will be his 11th Octagon appearance. He is 7-3 in the UFC, with wins in three of his last four fights.
The UFC Rochester main card will air live on the ESPN+ streaming service.
