Amazingly enough, WWE has never held an Extreme Rules pay-per-view (PPV) in Philadelphia. Even if you go back to when the show was called One Night Stand and was basically an ECW reunion show, they’d never held it in the city where Paul Heyman’s most famous creation was born.
In 2019, that changes…

While Wells Fargo Center isn’t exactly the old ECW (now 2300) Arena, not even Heyman would suggest putting a WWE pay-per-view (PPV) in a 1000 seat venue under the freeway in South Philly.
Get ready to party like it’s 1999, and check out what we officially know about WWE’s upcoming 2019 event schedule:
WrestleMania, April 7, New Jersey
Money in the Bank, May 19 – Hartford, CT
Extreme Rules, July 14 – Philadelphia
SummerSlam, Aug. 11 – Toronto
Survivor Series, Nov. 24 – Rosemont, IL (Chicago)
There’s also reportedly a Saudi Arabian show coming in early May, and a NXT TakeOver set for June – but no word on a main roster event that month just yet.
We’ll keep you posted on any announcements. In the meantime, fans along the I-95 corridor, get your tickets for Extreme Rules next Friday!
