Liacouras Center, Philadelphia – IBF super featherweight champion Tevin Farmer (29-4-1, 6 KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Jono Carroll (16-0-1, 3 KOs). The scores were 117-110, 117-111, 117-111.
Carroll was digging heavy to the body in the first round, while Farmer was mostly jabbing. Carroll continued to find more success with heavy body shots during the second.
They were trading a lot of punches during the third, Carroll was cut around the right eye. Farmer began to take over the fight in the fourth round.
Carroll had his moment, but it was Farmer who controlled most of the action and was far more accurate. Farmer switching things up in the ninth, moving and boxing as Carroll was having trouble connecting until the final minute when he pinned Farmer down and unloaded
Carroll was rocked really bad in the closing moments of the eleventh and took a lot of punches, but managed to stay on his feet. Farmer continued to punish Carroll during the twelfth round, with Carroll doing his best to fght back.
