Stephanie McMahon says WWE’s goal is to have same number of women & men

Just ten days away from the company’s first all women’s pay-per-view Evolution, the WWE is still saying all the right things about their own women’s revolution.

In a new interview with the UK’s Daily Express, Stephanie McMahon gave an interesting response when she was asked how she wants the WWE’s women’s division to look 10 years from now.

“I would like for there to be just as many women as there are men on the WWE roster and [to have] true equality and parity.”

On the surface this sounds like a huge leap for the world’s biggest pro wrestling promotion to make. If you look back to 2008 and how the WWE’s Diva’s division was treated on Raw, SmackDown and on pay-per-view, maybe McMahon’s proclamation isn’t that far of a stretch.

Using the current SmackDown roster as an example, the blue brand has 33 male wrestlers as opposed to 11 female wrestlers. To even up the roster, by 2028 the SmackDown roster would have to trim down 11 men off the locker room and add 11 more female superstars.

Thoughts on Stephanie McMahon’s goal of having an equal number of men and women in the women in 10 years time?
