Share the joy

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Goldberg’s WWE deal gives him control of his promos, Bryan Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Live. His promo on this week’s SmackDown was his own words and not a script.
  • Adam Cole and Shayna Baszler are names that’ve been discussed as the next NXT call-ups, according to Dave Meltzer on Observer Radio.
  • The Brock Lesnar beatdown angle was not a way to write Seth Rollins off Super ShowDown, says PW Insider. Rollins will appear in Jeddah.
  • They also say Sin Cara, Humberto Carrillo and Big E are booked for Friday in Saudi Arabia.
  • The WWE 2K20 ad campaign will feature a lot of current and former Superstars, per WrestleVotes. “Mega money” is being spent, and names like Austin, Flair & Hogan are said to be involved in something like the NFL 100 commercial.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you’d like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below.
