Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Becky Lynch vs. Stephanie McMahon has been discussed for SummerSlam, says Wrestling Observer Newsletter, but it’s “most definitely not a done deal”.
  • The Observer also noted that WWE sent officials overseas earlier this week for meetings with different Japanese wrestling companies about relationships and eventually setting up NXT Japan.
  • On Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez said it looks like SmackDown will end up on FS1. He also said WWE is lucky they signed the deal when they did, because they wouldn’t get $1 billion dollar contract for the show with its current numbers.
  • Luke Harper is expected back at the Performance Center in the next few days to prepare for his return to WWE.
  • Kota Ibushi is expected to work with All Elite Wrestling once he’s cleared from the concussion he sustained at Wrestle Kingdom 13.
