Philip De Fries is set for a third title defence in the main event of KSW 50 when he clashes fellow former UFC fighter, Damian Grabowski in London, England on Sept. 14 at Wembley Arena.
KSW announced the fight Wednesday during a Polish television broadcast.
De Fries (17-6-0) has been in the best form of his carer under the KSW banner, taking out three of the promotion’s most dangerous fighters—Michal Andryszak, Karol Bedorf and light heavyweight champion Tomasz Narkun—since making his debut under the banner in Apr. 2018. The English heavyweight rides a five-fight win streak into the contest, with his last victory coming against Narkun in their champion vs. champion bout.
Grabowski (22-5-0) has won two fights in as many tests since his unsuccessful three-fight stint with the UFC. After getting back to winning ways against Jose Rodrigo Guelke at FEN 22, the Polish heavyweight scored a second-round win over former champion Karol Bedorf to put himself in title contention. “The Polish Pitbull” failed to register a win during his three-fight tenure with the UFC, suffering defeats to Derrick Lewis, Anthony Hamilton and Chase Sherman.
