Now that TJ Dillashaw has vacated the UFC bantamweight title, the big question is which two fighters will compete in order to crown a new champion. Pedro Munhoz is hoping to be one of those fighters.

Munhoz campaigned for a bantamweight title fight against streaking contender Marlon Moraes on Twitter, promising UFC President Dana White an instant classic if he books the bout.

“[Dana White] I know the TJ situation disappointed a lot of [UFC] fans. Make it up to them and book me and [Marlon Moraes] and we’ll deliver a classic,” he wrote. “It won’t go 5 rounds. Guaranteed.”

Pedro Munhoz can absolutely lay claim to a bantamweight title shot, as he recently dropped jaws by knocking out former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt in slobber knocker at UFC 235. With this massive victory, he extended his current streak to 3-straight, as he’s also recently beaten Bryan Caraway and Brett Johns. His last loss occurred in March of 2018, when he gave up a close decision to John Dodson. Munhoz is currently a strong 18-3 overall.

Marlon Moraes, on the other hand, who seems like a shoe-in for any prospective bantamweight title fight, is 22-5-1 overall. He’s gone 4-1 in his first 5 UFC bouts, finishing top contenders Rafael Assuncao, Jimmie Rivera and Aljamain Sterling and defeating John Dodson by decision, and losing a split decision to Assuncao in his UFC debut. Prior to his move to the UFC, Moraes was the World Series of Fighting bantamweight champ.

Do you think Dana White and the UFC should book a bantamweight title fight between Marlon Moraes and Pedro Munhoz, or would you prefer to see a different matchup?
