North American fight fans were unable to watch a live stream of the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Tenshin Nasukawa exhibition match on New Year’s Eve, staged inside Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, but the combat sports community has been sharing some of the best clips on Twitter.
Mayweather, who turns 42 in just over a month, came out of retirement to box Nasukawa in the main event of RIZIN 14, for reasons not quite explained, but “Teppen” — a 20 year-old kickboxer with a bright future — was unable to use any kicks as part of their arrangement.
Not surprisingly, he was summarily dismantled by the greatest pugilist of this generation, as Mayweather hardly broke a sweat before putting Nasukawa on his ass. I’m not sure what fans were expecting from this cross-discipline headliner, but at least we got a finish.
