Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold could be on the sidelines at least six months after suffering a broken jaw in his fight against Jan Blachowicz at UFC 239.

On Monday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission released the medical suspensions from the card in Las Vegas this past weekend.

Rockhold was knocked out for the third time in his past four fights after getting blasted with a left hand from Blachowicz in the second round of their light heavyweight showdown on the UFC 239 main card.

Afterwards, UFC president Dana White revealed that Rockhold suffered a broken jaw with the Nevada Commission now confirming a left mandible fracture that occurred courtesy of Blachowicz.

Rockhold must have oral and maxillofacial surgery with a doctor’s clearance to return to action or he will be suspended for six months until Jan. 3, 2020. Rockhold faces a minimum suspension until at least Sept. 5 with no contact until Aug. 21.

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones also faces a potential six-month suspension following his split decision win over Thiago Santos in the UFC 239 main event.

Jones has to have his left foot X-rayed after the fight and receive orthopedic doctor’s clearance or he could be medically suspended for six months through Jan. 3, 2020.

Santos will also face a potential six-month suspension with the commission requiring an X-ray on his left hand and an MRI on his left knee with doctor’s clearance needed before he can return. Otherwise, Santos would face a similar suspension through Jan. 3, 2020.
