Calvin Kattar welcomed Chris Fishgold to the Octagon with closed fists earlier tonight (Sat., Oct. 27, 2018) at UFC Fight Night 138 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Avenir Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, and put a stop to the former Cage Warriors Fighting Championship standout via first-round TKO (punches).
Fishgold wasted no time slinging leather in his UFC debut as he burst out of gate with heavy combinations. Kattar remained patient and waited for his opportunity to pounce. That chance came midway through the first round when he timed a Fishgold dip and slammed a right hand into the side of his head. Fishgold fell to the canvas and Kattar jumped on top for hard ground-and-pound before the referee stepped in for the stoppage.

With this performance, Kattar gets back into the win column after suffering his first UFC loss at the hands of Renato Moicano this past April. Kattar is really just getting started in his UFC career and already has some really good performances under his belt. If he can continue to evolve his striking and decision making it’s possible the 30-year-old could land a top 10 opponent in 2019.
