Gillian Robertson will meet another Brazilian in the Octagon on July 27, as she takes on Sarah Frota at UFC 240 in Edmonton, Canada. MMA Fighting confirmed the booking following a report by Combate.
Robertson (6-3), who suffered her only UFC defeat by the hands of Brazilian flyweight Mayra Bueno Silva in September, is coming off a second-round submission victory over Veronica Macedo in February. The TUF 26 alumni also holds stoppage wins over Emily Whitmire and Molly McCann in the Octagon.
Frota (9-1) missed weight and suffered her first professional loss against Livinha Souza in February, and moves up to flyweight to attempt her first victory since joining the UFC. “A Treta” signed with the promotion after a first-round stoppage of Maiara Amanajas at last August’s Contender Series.
UFC 240 will take place at the Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, and features featherweight champion Max Holloway putting his title on the line versus former lightweight king Frankie Edgar.
