CARL FRAMPTON will consider his future over Christmas after defeat at the hands of Josh Warrington.

The Belfast fighter suffered his second career loss as he came up short in his bid to become a four-time world champion.

Frampton, 31, will sit down with wife, Christine, and his parents before making a decision on his next step after a unanimous points defeat by the IBF featherweight champion.

He will receive the full backing of promoter Frank Warren if he wants to walk away or if he opts to move up to super featherweight.

Warren said: “We signed new long-term contracts with both before the fight and whatever he wants to do, I will be with him 100 percent.

“If he said he wanted to pack it in, I would support him 100 percent.”

Frampton admitted afterwards Warrington was the deserved winner at Manchester Arena.

The ‘Jackal’ added: “Frank Warren said it’s the best fight he’s ever seen, which is something. He’s seen a few fights.

“I’ve got a big heart. I lost the fight but I wanted to stay in there and fight it out.

“I’ve got a bit of a fighter’s instinct. I don’t really have any quit in me.

“I had a go, I tried and fought right to the end. It wasn’t enough.”
