Former UFC light heavyweight champions Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz squared off for a third fight tonight, this time under the Golden Boy MMA banner.
“The Iceman” and “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” first met at UFC 47, with Chuck Liddell emerging victorious by way of second-round knockout.
In the pairs second meeting at UFC 66, Chuck Liddell would once again prove victorious, this time by way of third-round TKO.
Despite his previous success, Liddell entered tonight’s contest as the betting underdog.
“The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” entered tonight’s trilogy bout having won three of his past four fights overall. Tito Ortiz had most recently competed at Bellator 170 in January of 2017, where he submitted Chael Sonnen.
As for Chuck Liddell, the “Iceman” returned for the first time since UFC 115 in 2010, where he suffered a first-roun knockout loss to former UFC champion Rich Franklin.
Unfortunately for Chuck Liddell fans, tonight’s trilogy went in favor of Tito Ortiz. The Iceman looked slow and Tito proceeded to walk him down before eventually landing a right hand that put Liddell out cold.
Of course, Tito’s devastating finish of Liddell produced a ton of reactions on social media.
