Alfredo Caballero, the trainer of former world champion Juan Francisco ‘Gallo’ Estrada, is confident that his boxer will be able to defeat, even via knockout, WBC super flyweight king Srisaket Sor Rungvisai.

The contest will take place on April 26 at the Forum in Inglewood, in an evening being staged by Matchroom Boxing and Zanfer Promotions.

With three weeks training at the top in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Caballero stressed that, unlike last year when they lost a close decision, the injuries that plagued Estrada are now gone and that has allowed him to work better for what they consider the most important fight of his career.

The rematch would be held in April in Los Angeles, according to the promoter Fernando Beltrán, and will be carried by the DAZN streaming service.

“We are working hard in Los Mochis, it is the third time we have come here, it is a land of champions, there are many fighters, many gyms and we prepare very well,” Caballero said to ESPN Deportes.

“The first adjustment (for the rematch with Rungvisai) is to avoid injuries. Many people do not know, for the first fight Juan Francisco managed to train like three weeks, there were three serious injuries, in the spine, in the knee and another in the neck that took him to the hospital for a week and when he came out there was nothing more because there were three weeks to go for the fight.

“We decided to bring people in to help us avoid what happened last time, where we gave a great fight (in the first) but we were not well prepared. He gave a great fight because he is a strong and intelligent person and knew how to handle the fight, but this time I think it will be something similar like it was with Giovani Segura, where I see the opportunity to knock him out in the late rounds.”
