AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas – In a highly anticipated showdown for the IBF welterweight title, Errol Spence (25-0, 22 KOs) dominated and beat down Mikey Garcia (39-1, 30 KOs) over twelve rounds to win a lopsided unanimous decision to retain the title. The scores were 120-107, 120-108, 120-108.

Garcia, who holds the WBC lightweight title, was moving up by two weight divisions. At one point his corner was threatening to stop the contest after he had taken too much punishment during the tenth.

Spence went the twelve round distance for the first time in his pro career.
