Welterweights Elizeu Zaleski and Li Jingliang will finally meet inside the Octagon at the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Shenzhen, China, on Aug. 31, multiple sources confirmed to MMA Fighting following a report by Combate.
Zaleski vs. Jingliang was originally scheduled for UFC Beijing last November, but “Capoeira” was forced to withdraw from the card due to an injury.
Jingliang (16-5), who finished replacement David Zawada via third-round TKO that night in China, was victorious in six of his last seven UFC bouts, including four knockouts. The Chinese talent was expected to face Alex Oliveira earlier this year at UFC Fort Lauderdale, but pulled out with an injury.
Zaleski (21-5), winner of seven in a row under the UFC banner since 2016, made quick work of Curtis Millender earlier this year, finishing him with a rear-naked choke in less than three minutes at UFC Whichita in March. “Capoeira’s” winning streak includes three “Fight of the Night” bonuses.
UFC Shenzhen will take place at the Universiade Sports Centre in Shenzhen, China, and feature Chinese prospect Weili Zhang challenging Jessica Andrade for the strawweight championship in the main event.
