Rashad Evans won’t soon forget his UFC Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

On Friday night in Las Vegas, Evans was giving his acceptance speech at the Palms Hotel as the former UFC light heavyweight champion joined the Hall of Fame class of 2019 when the entire room started moving.

It didn’t take Evans long to figure out that an earthquake was rolling through Las Vegas after originating near Ridgecrest, Calif., which is approximately 240 miles away from “Sin City”.

According to reports, a 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit near Ridgecrest just a day after a 6.4 magnitude quake rocked the same area. A second earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale occurred just after the initial earthquake in California.

“Earthquake, baby!” Evans said reacting to the room swaying as he was in the middle of giving his speech. “That’s me bringing that heat.”

Evans continued giving his speech as people attending the UFC Hall of Fame ceremony began posting about what happened on social media.

The earthquake that happened on Thursday was also reportedly felt in some parts of Las Vegas as well but the magnitude of this quake was even greater.

The Los Angeles Times reported minor damage and injuries caused by this latest earthquake. The 6.9 magnitude would be the biggest earthquake to hit California in nearly 20 years.
