Jordan Gill’s reward for a stellar 2018 is a spot headlining in Peterborough as he brings his brilliant form to his local crowd.
The exciting talent who gripped audiences with his stunning victory over Ryan Doyle last October will main event a Matchroom show on March 2nd as he aims to make 2019 another remarkable year.
With the Commonwealth crown already attached to his consistently growing profile, Gill is eager to add more titles, and his trainer Dave Coldwell is insistent they’ll come.
“In terms of pure talent he’s one of the best kids I’ve worked with,” buzzed Coldwell from his busy gym in Rotherham.
“The plan with Jordan was to get his ability the spotlight it deserved and I knew once he fought in front of the Sky cameras that he’d make a big impression. He had a good fight with Jason Cunningham that people enjoyed and there was the fight at the backend of the year against Ryan Doyle. A lot of people had that a close contest going in, but it brought the best out of Jordan and now he has to push on. He’s been given the responsibility to top the bill in Peterborough and I think we’ll see him make the most of the occasion.”
On fighting in Peterborough, Coldwell added, “These nights are what Jordan got into boxing for. Since coming to my gym he’s been an absolute pleasure to work with and now he’s starting to get the recognition his ability warrants.
“I’d like to say a massive thank you to Eddie Hearn, Matchroom, and Sky Sports for giving Jordan this chance, and I’m certain that he’ll entertain the fans once again. You’re looking at a potential world champion in Jordan, and I’m really excited about what he could achieve.”
