Daniel Dubois: I Think Andy Ruiz Has Anthony Joshua’s Number

Three of Frank Warren’s undefeated heavyweights will be on display this Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London.

In a battle of unbeatens, Daniel Dubois and Nathan Gorman will collide – with the winner likely moving on to a world title shot in 2020.

And Olympic silver medal winner Joe Joyce will face his stiffest test to date in veteran Bryant Jennings.

Warren is not worried about matching Dubois and Gorman. Regardless of who loses, he still expects big things from that boxer.

And he believes either boxer would beat the boxer regarded by many as the biggest money fight in the UK, former unified champion Anthony Joshua – who faces Andy Ruiz in a rematch at the end of the year.

“Whichever of them wins this one will fight for the world title next year. Whoever loses will recycle and come again to get into that mix. Whether or not Joshua regains his titles in a rematch with Andy Ruiz – which in my view he is unwise to be taking immediately – he will still be an important player for a while,” Warren told Daily Mail

“So one way or the other one of Daniel or Nathan is likely to fight him. And whichever one does will knock him out. Joyce, Dubois and Gorman are the future. They are coming up fast behind Wilder, Fury and Joshua.”

Dubois, who is rumored to have knocked out Joshua in a sparring session several years ago, would love to face him in the ring – but he doubts former champ will be able to reclaim his titles from Ruiz – who back in June had dropped Joshua four times for a TKO win in seven rounds.

“I want to join the roll call of British champions. After I do that on Saturday I think I will be only a couple of fights away from a world title. If that involves fighting Joshua that’s fine with me. Although I’m not sure he can get his titles back. The little Mexican deserved to beat him and with that upset in the bank I think Ruiz has got Joshua’s number,” Dubois said.
