It seems the case for Chyna’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame has gone on for years now.
Before and after her death in April 2016, Chyna’s inclusion in WWE’s promotional Hall of Fame has always been a hot button issue in the pro wrestling community.
In 2015, Triple H found himself in hot water after his insensitive comments on the Stone Cold Podcast on the WWE Network regarding the reasons why Chyna was not already in the company’s Hall of Fame.
Almost a year later Chyna passed away and the topic again gained some traction.
Recently, on what would have been her 49th birthday, X-Pac took up the torch to get Chyna honored in WWE’s Hall of Fame.
With news of D-Generation X going into this year’s Hall of Fame class, including Chyna, more Ninth Wonder of the World talk has simmered to the surface.
Appearing on SiruiusXM’s Busted Open Radio, DX member Billy Gunn gave his candid thoughts on Chyna finally going into the Hall of Fame.
“I think that was the most exciting thing about this whole thing. When Brian had said to me ‘and Chyna is going in’, I think that was a huge relief for me. Because you’re right, I always said she needed to go in. What goes on outside of wrestling is what goes on outside of wrestling. It has nothing to do with the fact that she was a huge impact in wrestling (industry), and that’s what this is recognizing.”
Thoughts on how WWE will handle DX’s induction ceremony during WrestleMania 35 weekend?
