Bellew: With Usyk I’m Going To Shock The World for Third Time

Former cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew (30-2-1, 20 KOs) has once again promised to upset the odds.

Last March, Bellew moved up to the heavyweight division, as a major underdog, and shocked everyone by stopping overwhelming favorite David Haye in eleven rounds.

A rematch took place in May of this year, with Haye once again the favorite, and this time Bellew blew away Haye in five rounds.

And this time around, Bellew returns to cruiserweight to challenge one of the best fighters in the world, Olympic gold medal winner Oleksandr Usyk (15-0, 11 KOs), for the WBA, WBO, WBC, IBF world titles.

The bout is scheduled for November 10 at Manchester Arena in Manchester.

“This is the toughest fight of my life, without a shadow of a doubt,” said Bellew to Sky Sports.

“This is the most formidable opponent I have ever faced, and he is the man who everybody is scared of. He is the monster who everyone is running away from, and it’s only a dope like me that can run right at him, and want a fight with him.

“We’ll soon found out, November 10. I’m not going to shock the world for the first time, not even the second time, it’s going to be the third time.”

To get back to cruiserweight, Bellew has to cut 30-pounds from his frame.

And Bellew has no concern whatsoever when it comes to showcasing an impressive form when he steps on the scale.

“When I take my top off on November 9, I think you will see how the 30 pounds have come off,” Bellew said.

“Listen, forget about the weight, forget about dieting, this is all about a fight, this is all about becoming undisputed cruiserweight champion of the world. That’s all that matters. I don’t care about the weight, I don’t care about how good he is, how many stupid things he wants to say, that he’s invisible in the ring. All that matters is me going home with those four belts on November 10, and I’m going to do it.”
