Bellator inks former GLORY kickboxing champion, Robin van Roosmalen, to MMA deal

Bellator 222: “MacDonald vs. Gracie” takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y., on June 14, 2019, featuring world champion Rory MacDonald (20-5-1) putting his Welterweight title on the line in the Grand Prix against undefeated Neiman Gracie (9-0) in a bout where only one man can advance to the finals (even if there’s a draw).

Speaking of world champions, don’t be surprised to see former two-division kickboxing title holder Robin van Roosmalen sitting front row next to company president, Scott Coker. Roosmalen, 29, has tallied an incredible 69 kickboxing fights, going 51-18 and becoming both Featherweight and Lightweight champion during his tenure with GLORY.

As you can see from Coker’s tweet, Roosmalen is already being teased for the $1 million Featherweight Grand Prix tournament this fall, which will take place at yet to be determined venue with eight opening round fights in one night.
