You Will Not Regret The Lessons Learned On The Competition Mats!
You’ll never look back and say, “Man, I really wish I hadn’t tested myself”.
Over the course of our lifetime we’ll be presented with challenges in many forms. Life throws us various curve balls from time to time that we’ll be forced to deal with on a regular basis. BJJ of course has its own set of challenges. It requires us to solve a multitude of puzzles on a daily basis, find solutions, and become more proficient practitioners so we can keep up with the pack and satisfy our own cravings for progress.

But you also have the opportunity to take it a step further. You have the chance to place challenges in front of you. Some of us elect to add more to our plate by competing. For some, this may be a way to stay on track with their goals. A competition may be a reason for you to stay on your new diet, to go to bed earlier, to train on the weekends instead of partying. It may assist you in cultivating the discipline you’ve been so diligently trying to acquire.
Maybe you’re already a disciplined person, and wish to test yourself in a different manner. Whatever the case may be, you won’t regret it. Competition won’t be the most trying thing you’ll ever go through in your life. It will be far from it actually. But it feels different when you conquer something that you’ve purposely placed in your path. This kind of growth is different than the normal daily process of just dealing with things as they come.
