Amanda Nunes KO’s Cyborg In First Round, Now Two-Division Women’s Champ

Share the joy

Ladies and gentlemen, I dare any of you to give me an argument as to why Amanda Nunes is not the greatest female mixed martial artist of all time. Not only is she now the first UFC two-division women’s champion, but she has knocked both Ronda Rousey and Cris Cyborg —two of the greatest female mixed martial artists — out cold…in the first round!

Nunes took on Cyborg tonight in the co-main event of UFC 232. The two started out with a cordial touch of the gloves and felt each other out at first. Nunes then swung for the fences and Cyborg charged in and returned. Nunes landed and Cyborg went down but got back up. Cyborg kept on charging in, but Nunes tagged her again and again. Cyborg went down yet again, and this time the referee called it off.

Nunes fell to the ground and cried over the fact that she just made history, but Cyborg was still there to congratulate her.

What an amazing win for an amazing champion.
