According to the Wrestling Observer, AJ Styles’ current contract with WWE is up in April. Considering his name value and the current pro wrestling landscape, he would be a hot free agent with an active market for his services, from WWE to AEW and beyond.
Just yesterday, Wrestling News World published a report claiming he won’t be hitting the open market because he’s already signed a new contract with WWE. They have no details on the contract itself, just that he, apparently, signed a new one.
Later in the day, Styles himself took to Twitter to refute the report:
For whatever it’s worth, that site and the author of the report is standing by it.
The Observer has noted the expectation is he’ll stay with WWE, and PW Insider has reported the company has been trying to lock in talent to new contracts. If he hasn’t signed by now, as he said, it looks like it’s going to happen soon enough.
